Prunus Spinosa. An underused deciduous shrub in Australia but very popular in Europe for hedging as they create a dense barrier of thorny branches. Can be grown as a feature tree too. In spring masses of white blossom cover this shrub as impressive as they are its really the berries that people grow these plants for. They are the one and only sloe berry used to make the most delicious of gins and jams and jellies. 3 to 5m high and wide. Full sun to part shade.
