What a gem! This shrub is thought to be a cross between H Serrata and H Macrophylla. A hardy deciduous flowering shrub has a rounded bushy habit, coarse, dark toothed leaves and maintains a relatively compact stature. Its big flower clusters have small fertile flowers towards their centers and showy sterile flowers along the edges. White lacecap flowers slowly change to spotted pink and then with age to the colour of red wine. This hydrangea grows happily in full sun or partial shade and prefers moist, well-drained, humus-rich soil. Pruning is rarely necessary but should be done immediately after bloom. . Grows up to 2.5m in height . Prefers dappled shade.
