Dodecatheon Meadia Giganthea. Also known as shooting stars from the primrose family it's found in both forested areas and prairies of eastern USA. Growing from tiny clusters of tubers large lance shaped soft leaves grow in spring. Lilac pink flowers with reflexed petals are pushed high above the basal rosette of leaves in late spring. Needs moisture and some shade. A very desirable plant for the woodland garden. 60cm
