Trillium Chloropetalum. Native to the central California coast and one of the most well known trilliums. Large, bold umbrellas top the stems, each composed of 3 ovate shaped leaves without stalks. The leaves are heavily blotched with chocolate brown to liver red. Rising from the centre of the leaves a stalkless 3 petaled flower appears in spring. It stands up on its end and the petal which are blood red slow elongate as it matures. The flowers have a lovely unexpected scent of rose. 50cm highland wide.
