Sambucus Nigra Linearis. Everything about this elder is delicate except its growing habit. Like most elders this deciduous shrub has a robust growing habit of 3m by 1.5m. This rare shrub has fine long leaves that curl and twist making it look like a maple from a distance. in late spring large flat lacy creamy white flower develop over the shrub. These can be used to make elderflower cordial or you can wait for the dark near black berries and create elderberry syrup instead or maybe even bake them into the most delicious pie. Prefers full sun to part shade.
