Magnolia Black tulip. This narrow and compact magnolia is perfect for the small garden. Black tulip has smooth attractive bark and a lovely habit, so it looks good even when its deciduous. Fat buds start to develop throughout winter and open early spring to a dark purple cup reminiscent of a tulip flower. Flowers will darken over time as the tree matures and settles in to its position.
