Chionanthus Virginicum.  Native to Eastern United States. It is small tree or large shrub depending on how you decide to grow and prune it. Deciduous with oval mid green leaves spring summer colour it golden yellow for autumn before dropping to the ground. The show stopping moment for this easy to grow tree is late spring to early summer when you can hardly see leaves for all the white flowers. They look a bit like tassels and are fragrant. from a distance you could think it was a white wattle with the amount of flowers on show. Females with develop small clusters of olive like seeds that ripen to blue. 3 to 6 m. Full sun to part shade. White fringe tree.
